Tubber still in hunt for Munster honours

Tubber 2-12   Roscrea 3-9

TUBBER’S dream of a Munster hurling title is still alive after they finished strongly to draw with Tipperary champions Roscrea in the Munster Junior B Hurling final at Killeedy on Sunday. The teams will return to the same venue this Sunday to renew rivalry at 2pm.

Ten minutes from the end of last week’s meeting, the title looked to be heading to Roscrea as they held a five-point lead. However, Tubber’s never-say-die attitude saw them battle back to set up the replay.

Full-forward David Fogarty scored both of the Clare champion’s goals on a day when Lorcan O’Grady, Evan Donoghue, Gerry Brohan and Cyril Cunningham were prominent.

The team is managed by Michael Kelly, who is assisted by Matthew Waters.

Tubber: Dylan Molloy; Dermot Taaffe, Ollie Taaffe, Mark Waters; Lorcan O’Grady, Gerry Brohan, Sean Naughton; Cyril Cunningham, Micheál Kelly; Damian Quinn, Shane McMahon, Evan Donoghue; Nigel Naughton, David Fogarty, Declan Ryan.
Subs: Paddy O’Connor for Naughton and Philip O’Connor for Quinn.
