Tubber and Feakle share the spoils

TUBBER and Feakle shared the Division 2A spoils on Saturday at Tubber.
The visitors had the assistance of the wind in the first half and this helped them to lead by two points at half-time, their goal coming from Donal O’Grady.
Tubber had the opening three points of the second half but from then on, it was point for point until Clive Earley hit the equalising score for the home side shortly before the full-time whistle.

Cratloe 6-11  St Joseph’s 1-9

CRATLOE were convincing winners over St Joseph’s in this league tie played at Cratloe on Saturday. They were seven points clear at half-time when the score was 2-7 to 1-3 and they continued to hold the upperhand in the second half.
Cathal McInerney was the game’s top scorer with 3-3 to his credit, while Conor McGrath with 1-3, Pádraig Chaplin and Paudge Collins with a goal each helped build up the impressive scoreline of 6-11.
In fairness to St Joseph’s, they were without a number of their more experienced players including defenders, Ken Kennedy and Darragh O’Driscoll.

Corofin 3-15  O’Callaghan’s Mills 1-13

COROFIN caused a surprise when they dished out an eight-point defeat to a fancied O’Callaghan’s Mills side in this league tie played at the North Clare club’s venue on Saturday.
The result may have surprised followers but it was fully merited on the day as Corofin dominated the exchanges.
Stephen Heagney scored two goals for the winners with the third goal coming from Eamonn Malone. Kevin Heagney was in superb form and contributed five points while Declan Lee hit four.

Scariff 1-15  Ballyea 1-12

HELPED by a first-half goal from Michael Moroney, Scariff overcame Ballyea in this cup tie played at Scariff on Saturday.
The winners were 1-11 to 1-6 ahead at the break with Ballyea’s goal coming from Francie Neylon.
Ross Horan contributed seven points for the winners, four coming from frees while Niall Keane hit five for Ballyea. Barry Murphy scored 0-3 for Scariff with Ballyea’s Tony Griffin hitting the same tally for the mid Clare side.
