Trick or treat in The Champion

Ennis National School pupils enjoying their visit to The Clare Champion offices, as part of their annual Hallowe’en Hobble. Photograph by John Kelly“TRICK or treat, trick or treat, give me something nice to eat,” was the chant reverberating around the offices of The Clare Champion on Friday last, when pupils of Ennis National School made their annual Hallowe’en visit.
The Champion is a very popular stop-off point for the children on their Hallowe’en Hobble. Accompanied by their teachers, the junior classes were greeted on arrival by a heavily disguised managing director, John Galvin and other staff members in seasonal costumes.
The children were thrilled to get plenty of sweets and treats and repaid the hospitality with rhymes and songs.
“We really look forward to Hallowe’en every year and the visit to our premises of the Hallowe’en Hobble. This year, we really got into the spirit of the event with staff members dressing in costume and creating an eerie atmosphere for the Ennis National School children to enjoy. We hope they had a great day on their ramble through the town,” said Mr Galvin.

Photographs can be ordered by calling into The Champion office in Barrack Street, Ennis.
