BUDDING sculptors and painters showed their talents at the Community Games Art and Model Making County Finals at Rice College, Ennis on Saturday. Perhaps they have food for thought in a quote by Picasso, “It took me four years to paint like Raphael but a lifetime to paint like a child”.
The competition was co-ordinated by Cecilia O’Sullivan of Ennis St John’s. The standard was extremely high and the judges, Louise Houlihan and Frances Bailey, had a very difficult job selecting just four in each category.
The first-placed competitors in each category will now go forward to represent Clare in the national finals in Athlone from May 24 to 26.
