The final of the junior B colleges camogie competition was a well-contested game played on a blustery day.
The teams were well matched for the first half, with scores being missed on several occasions. The only score of this half came from Gráinne Ní Núallain as she travelled from the half-back line to blast the ball to the net.
In the second half, Ennistymon started well with scores coming from Eva O’Dea and Laura McGann. However, Gael Cholaiste an Chlair-ECC had inspirational goals by Aoibhean Ní Dhúagáin and Emily Ni Mhaoildomaigh. Gael Cholaiste an Chlair-ECC rallied again and managed another point from a close range free taken by Gráinne Ní Núallain and a goal to tally her personal score to 2-1 for the game.
The match was heading for the final moments and a last minute effort by Daire Ní Chatháin and point from Olivia Ni Ceallaigh put Gael Cholaiste an Chlair/ECC well ahead at the final whistle.
Best for Scoil Mhuire Ennistymon were Eva O’Dea, Laura McGann and Emer Hillary whilst Gael Cholaiste an Chlair/ECC’s best included Gráinne Ní Núallain, Emily Ni Mhaoildomaigh, Caithlin Nic Conmara and Olivia Ní Choigligh.
