Thrilling musical collaboration for Tulla

THRILLOGY, an exciting new group from County Clare consisting of three individual solo artists, will come together with their own unique styles to perform live this Saturday night at The Courthouse Tulla at 9pm.

The group is made up of Feakle contemporary/folk singer Kate Purcell, Yuki Nishioka a classically trained violinist originally from Japan but who now lives in Ennis and Denise Glass, formerly Larkin, from the world-famous Larkin’s Pub in Garrykennedy, Tipperary and who now lives in Mountshannon.
Kate has performed all over the world alongside acts like Paul Brady, Lisa Hannigan,  Lunasa, Tommy Fleming, Jack L, Martin Hayes, Sean Keane and Brendan Begley to name a few.
Yuki came to Ireland a number of years ago to learn Irish traditional music although she has played violin since the age of three having been a student of the highly acclaimed Dr Shinichi Suzuki (of the Suzuki method).
She was lead violinist with the Japanese Aichi Chamber Orchestra and now is lead violinist in the Galway Chamber Orchestra. Yuki plays an incredible mix of classical and traditional violin and creates an interesting classical take on well-loved Irish airs.
Denise, meanwhile, learned fiddle from her father and she played with her family entertaining visitors to their pub. Her father spent some time in the USA and brought home bluegrass and Canadian tunes, which Denise then learned. She has a degree in music and teaches music at St Anne’s Secondary School in Killaloe. Her individual style includes an eclectic mix of traditional/Bluegrass with shades of jazz.
All three artists blend perfectly together and form a unique and exciting sound.
All are welcome to attend the gig, which kicks off at 9pm with admission available on the door.
