Theatrical double feature in Glór

FISHAMBLE: The New Play Company will certainly have a busy weekend when they visit Ennis this month. The theatre company will be performing two plays at Glór in Ennis.

The productions Forgotten and Silent will be brought to the stage in Clare on Thursday, February 17 and Friday, February 18 respectively. Written and performed by Pat Kinevane, Forgotten has already been performed in over 50 Irish venues, in eight European countries and three US cities.
Pat once again joined forces with Fishamble for their new work, Silent.
“This is an opportunity to catch both productions in the same weekend, each probing distinct dark spots in the Irish psyche, with charm, wit and conviction,” explained a spokeswoman for Glór.
Both plays are directed by Jim Culleton and produced by Orla Flanagan. The music for Silent was composed by Denis Clohessy.
Forgotten sees Pat portray four elderly characters, living in retirement homes and care facilities around Ireland. The performance mixes Kabuki dance with Irish storytelling.
The play has received critical acclaim with the New Yorker calling it “uniquely memorable” while The Irish Times described it as “captivating, moving and yes even unforgettable.”
Silent, meanwhile, explores the character of McGoldrig, a homeless man. He once had splendid things but has lost it all, including his mind.
He now dives into the wonderful wounds of his past through the romantic world of Rudolph Valentino.
Special ticket prices are available for anyone attending both performances.
