THE Kilfenora Céilí Band will perform at the West County Hotel, Ennis on Saturday, March 31 in aid of TLC4CF (Tipperary, Limerick, Clare for Cystic Fibrosis) which is the Mid-Western branch of the Cystic Fibrosis Association of Ireland.
A night of music, dancing and all-round entertainment, the event will showcase the wonderful talent of the Kilfenora Céilí Band, whose music and spirit has transcended over 100 years, remaining as popular today as they were in the early 1900s.
John Lynch, leader of The Kilfenora Céilí Band, said he and the band are delighted to be associated with this event because of the significance of cystic fibrosis in his extended family. John is a first cousin of the Drennans in Ennis, whose two young adults, Katie aged 21 and Jordan aged 20, both have cystic fibrosis.
The funds raised from the event will go towards TLC4CF’s ongoing efforts to raise funds for a vital adult inpatient and outpatient unit at the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick.
“The response to this event has been fantastic and promises to be an evening of great craic and dancing where people can come along, enjoy the Kilfenora Céilí Band, while also helping TLC4CF raise vitally needed funds for the new build, which will commence this month. This new state-of-the-art building will benefit all people with CF in the Mid-Western region,” commented Linda Drennan spokesperson and treasurer for TLC4CF.
The Monster Céilí will take place at the West County Hotel in Ennis from 10pm and will feature a special guest appearance by renowned singer, Jerry Lynch, who is John’s brother.
