Tara hails toil and planning as CBS closes in on double

It’s rare to meet a woman at a schools game, Ennistymon CBS coach Tara Rynne tells Ivan Smyth ahead of the school’s All-Ireland final this weekend Tara Rynne’s Ennistymon CBS side travel to Duggan Park, Ballinasloe, this Saturday (throw in 2pm) as the school goes in search of a first ever Senior All Ireland title while she is part of the hurling management team that are also gunning to lift national honours in the same grade. She admits this is a unique situation for any school to find themselves in and one that has come about due to hard work and careful planning. “We couldn’t ask for it to go any better. It is hurling one week and football another with us. The lads take it all in their stride. Munster glory for Ennistymon CBS as first leg of double lands

Michael O’Connor reports from Tipp town as Ennistymon CBS defeat Dungarvan CBS 3-13 to 1-5 in the Munster Schools C final IN the last four months St Flannans have won the Dean Ryan, St Joseph’s Tulla the Harty Cup and now Ennistymon CBS are the latest to announce their hunger for titles with a superb performance in the Munster C football final in Tipperary town on Saturday afternoon. Meeting the Rouine clan in Tipperary town before the game one automatically knew that some Ennistymon side was in action. Joint Captain Brendy Rouine was unfortunately side-lined with a hamstring issue and this scared and galvinised the school side not to use excuses but bring home the silverware. Ennistymon took to the field running against the breeze, yet it did not appear to matter as they ran with great gusto against a Dungarvan side that were struggling to cope with the raiding Ennistymon defenders and wing forwards.
