Gardai seek information on missing Ennis teen

Gardaí in Ennis are seeking the public’s assistance in tracing the whereabouts of Daniel Ohiku, 17 years, who was last seen on Saturday April 18 at his home in Ennis. Daniel is described as being approximately 5’10” in height, of slim build with black curly hair. Anyone with any information on Daniel’s whereabouts or who can assist in locating him are asked to contact Ennis Garda Station on 065 684 8100, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Body of young man located

Gardaí in Ennis searching for 19-year-old Jack Dinan located his body in a wooded location near the town on Monday afternoon. His body was been removed from the scene and a post mortem is due to take place today (Tuesday). Gardaí do not believe that his death is suspicious. The family have requested privacy and the gardaí have no further information to add. Jack Dinan had been missing from his home since Tuesday, October and on the following day gardaí issued an appeal to help trace his whereabouts

Body of Maria Hennigar identified

Remains found in Galway Bay last week are those of a missing North Clare resident, Maria Hennigar, gardaí have confirmed. 35-year-old Ms Hennigar was reported missing on November 22 although she hadn’t been seen since early November. Family and friends of Ms Hennigar had been searching large areas of north Clare despite having no indication where Maria was or if she was actually missing.Hundreds of people joined the searches which also involved the Irish Coast Guard, Clare Civil Defence and gardaí. When part of a body was discovered in the sea near Kilcolgan on November 29, Ms Hennigan’s family was informed and DNA samples were taken so they be could compared to those taken from the body. Maria’s family have thanked the Gardaí and volunteers search teams for their efforts in the search. Garda Alert: Ennis man missing

Gardaí are seeking the public’s assistance in tracing the whereabouts of 20-year-old Ennis man, Michael Bugler, missing from Galway city since Friday last. Michael was last seen in the Quay Street area, Galway City on Friday night at approximately 1am. Michael is described as being 5’9″ in height, of thin build with short brown hair and blue eyes. When last seen Michael was wearing a grey coloured jumper and jeans. Search continues for missing 20 year-old Quilty man

  A major search for a missing Quilty man involving emergency services and volunteers will resume tomorrow morning. The 20 year-old man, who was last seen in the early hours of Monday morning, is believed to have fallen into the Atlantic Ocean in the vicinity of Spanish Point. The Irish Coastguard was contacted and they in turn dispatched units from Kilkee and Doolin Coastguard around 11 am this morning for the start of the official search. The Shannon-based search and rescue helicopter conducted an aerial search in a bid to locate the missing man. It is feared that the man may have entered the sea near Spanish Point as some of his personal belongings were found in this area. He was first noticed missing by family members in the early hours who contacted emergency services. Injured surfer taken to hospital

A surfer who dislocated his knee when he lost his footing on a slippery pathway is recovering from his injury at University Hospital Limerick. The incident in Lahinch occurred late Thursday evening when the Doolin Coast Guard team was tasked by MRSC, Valentia. The surfer was returning to shore when he lost his footing on a pathway and dislocated his knee. The team assembled and set up the climbing equipment. The HSE Ambulance Service was also tasked and arrived on scene a short time later. Two climbers descended with a stretcher and the injured surfer was treated for pain and shock and his leg was splinted. He was then hauled to the top and taken to the waiting ambulance. Meanwhile, the Irish Coast Guard Unit at Killaloe were involved in separate emergency incident the previous night when a woman in her 60’s, who had been walking in the Silvermines Hills in Tipperary with her husband, lost her way. Fifteen-year-old, Yulissa Stoica, who had been missing from her Galway home, has been located safe and well this morning (Thursday). The gardaí have acknowledged the support of everybody who helped them with their enquiries from when Yulissa was reported missing on Good Friday.
