Support for Munster home and away

SIXMILEBRIDGE GAA successfully put forward a motion to convention calling for all Munster club fixtures, including finals, to be on a home and away basis.
Putting the proposal, PJ. Fitzpatrick reminded the delegates that the recent Crusheen v Na Piarsaigh final was played in Thurles when “it would have been so much more beneficial to everybody if it was played in either Cusack Park or Limerick”.
Having put the proposal, which won the support of the majority of delegates present, Fitzpatrick congratulated Crusheen “on their fantastic display in the county final and on their superb performance in two epic matches in Thurles. They were outstanding games and Crusheen can really be very proud of how they represented the county.”
He congratulated Na Piarsaigh on their win and the involvement of their clubman, Sean Stack as the Limerick side’s coach.
The co-chairman is to appoint a sub-committee at the first committee meeting in 2012 to deal with the report that has reduced the capacity of Cusack park to 12,000 and to report to the co committee in three months following support for a motion from Miltown, which was proposed by Noel Walsh.
Convention also supported a motion from Sixmilebridge, which said, “When finances allow, Cusack Park be given a facelift beginning with dressing rooms/showers, toilet facilities”.
A motion from the same club proposing that “no inter-county management should have the right to request a change of the master fixture list,” was ruled out of order as was a motion from Whitegate, which asked that “the treasurer supply to clubs on a quarterly period a detailed report of expenditure and income by the board, in particular, team expenses and administration expenses, which are two of the three largest items of expenditure.
Another motion from Whitegate asking the treasurer to supply a breakdown of expenses on a pet team basis for adult teams, in particular costs of hurleys/footballs, medical, layer expenses, laundry, physiotherapy and masseurs, training facilities, travel costs and catering costs, was lost.
A motion from Inagh-Kilnamona asking for the installation of an electronic scoreboard in Cusack Park was referred to the finance committee.
