Successful Junior Tennis Championships in Ennis

The standard was very high in all competitions with many players showing the benefits of tough competition over the summer in a number of events on the Munster circuit. The championships were organised by junior coach, Jason Comerford and his committee.
The results from the finals are: U-10 girls: Rhona Kearney bt Edith Kearney; U-10 boys: Seosamh Ryan bt Eoin Carroll; U-12 girls: Karen McNamara bt Chris Kearney; U-14 boys: Nathan Darcy bt Mark Duffy. U-16 boys: Matthew Cooney bt Ciaran O’Brien; U-18 boys: Eoin Power bt Roger Mulcaire; U-12 and U-14 doubles: Chris Kearney and Niamh O’Shea bt Karen McNamara and Lana Browne; U-18 boys doubles: Eoin Power and Roger Mulcaire bt Ciaran O’Brien and Michael McMahon.

Senior championships

The senior tennis championships commence on Monday next, with draws taking place at the weekend.
The usual singles and doubles events across A, B and C grades are scheduled with tennis captain, Kieran Touhy and his team responsible for managing the tournament.
A number of the club’s top players have performed well in tournaments in the South and West of the country and will bring good form into the championships.
