Strictly Come Dancing East Clare

STRICTLY Come Dancing East Clare has got off to a great start with Zumba and Salsa lessons underway across the area.
Despite the original plans to have 12 couples competing in the grand finale at the West County Hotel at the end of August, due to keen interest, Kilmurry have joined the fundraiser. Their representatives, Claire Bannon and Christy Carey, have a lot of experience in dancing and are confident of doing well. Kilmurry woman Kate Lynch said, “One of our dancers is suffering from injury at the moment but everyone in the camp is confident that she will be back training very soon. However, Christy reckons ‘no pain, no gain’ so if they carry this fighting spirit onto the dance floor, they will be stiff opposition for anyone.”
According to Joan Broderick from Whitegate, their couple Rachel Worrell and Kyle Brogan are enjoying their lessons and fancy their chances. “The votes are coming in thick and fast for Kyle and Rachel at the moment and their footwork is improving every week. They are only two weeks into rehearsals so we are all looking forward to a great dance off.”
Mary Hayes of Feakle said their dance couple, Áine Hayes and Mike Tuohy, are practising hard. “Their co-ordination, footwork and dancing skills are improving each week so all their supporters are confident that they will be up for the challenge in the West County.”
All 13 dance couples are flying their local GAA club colours and have a strong team on the ground to support them. Voting cards, with a photograph of each dance couple are now available in each area. There is a charge per vote.
