Stack to read at Scéal Eile next week

ENNISTYMON native, author Eddie Stack will read from his books at Scéal Eile in the Market , Ennis, next Thursday.
Eddie emigrated to the United States in the mid-‘80s and settled in San Francisco, where he founded The Island, an Irish journal.
His short story collections are The West, for which he received a Top 100 Irish American Award, and Out of the Blue in 2004. He has also released The West, a CD which features four stories from his collection of the same name, read by himself with music by Martin Hayes and Dennis Cahill.
He was co–founder and artistic director of the Irish Arts Foundation in San Francisco, and was a member of the Irish traditional group Last Night’s Fun with Tommy Peoples, Paddy Keenan, Johnny Moynihan and the late Shane Holden.
He has recently had three books in Amazon Kindle’s bestselling charts and his new novel Heads made the number one spot in Amazon’s pop culture list.
The author is also a pioneer in the new electronic publishing field and earlier this year, he created the first Irish book of fiction for the Apple iPhone and iPad.
At Scéal Eile he will read stories that are set in Clare. The reading coincides with the publication of a new edition of his classic book The West. The cover of this edition features a painting by Phillip Morrison of Blake’s Corner.
The reading takes place in Scéal Eile, the Market, Ennis on Thursday, August 12 at 6.30pm.
