St Joseph’s Tulla 2-8   Coláiste Mhuire  1-2

St Joseph’s, Tulla were crowned Munster colleges intermediate C camogie champions at Feakle on Saturday when they defeated Colaiste Mhuire from Ennis.
The foundations for this win were laid in the first half when the winners, playing with the aid of the breeze, raced into a 1-7 to 0-0 lead.
As the scoreline suggests, the East Clare school side was strong in attack with such as Vera Loughnane, Kate O’Gorman and team captain, Lauren Guilfoyle impressing.
The winners were 0-4 to 0-0 in front at the end of the first quarter thanks to scores from Vera Loughnane (3) and Lauren Guilfoyle.
Early in the second quarter full forward, Kate O’Gorman had the winner’s first goal. Deirdre Minogue was unlucky not to find the net minutes later as the Tulla girls continued to dominate the tie.
Two more points from Vera Loughnane followed while Lorna Power also found the target before the half time whistle.
Colaiste Mhuire piled on the pressure on the resumption but they were guilty of a few early misses before Jane Flanagan had their first score, ten minutes into the new half.
A Colaiste Mhuire goal from Kate McCarthy suggested that there would be a strong fight back from the Ennis side but St Joseph’s hit back quickly and Kate O’Gorman had her side’s second goal to put her team firmly in command and send them on the way to victory.
