THE Golden Vale Milk Clare Community Games U- 15 boys’ indoor soccer competitions took place on Saturday last in St Flannan’s College. Thirteen teams took part in what was a very keenly contested competition, co-ordinated by Flan Brennan. Some of the games required extra time, while some went to a penalty shoot out and one to sudden death. In the first round, Ennis St John’s A beat Sixmilebridge/Kilmurry, Cooraclare-Cree B beat Ballynacally/Lissycasey B in penalty shoot-out, Inch/Connolly/Kilmaley A beat Broadford, Ennis St John’s B beat Inch/Connolly/Kilmaley B, while Cooraclare-Cree A beat Killimer/Knockerra.In the quarter-finals Clarecastle/Ballyea B received a walkover from Quin/Clooney, Ennis St John’s A beat Cooraclare/Cree B, Inch/Connolly/Kilmaley beat Clarecastle/Ballyea A and Cooraclare/Cree A beat Ennis St John’s B after extra time, penalties and sudden death. The final was a hard-fought game between Ennis St John’s A and Inch/Connolly/Kilmaley A.
