Special nights of classical music at UCH Limerick
On Thursday at 8pm, the Irish Chamber Orchestra will perform with three choirs, the National Chamber Choir, the ICO Chorus and the County Limerick Youth Choir.
The orchestra will perform a festive choral work, Stella Natalis (Star of birth) by Karl Jenkins, under the baton of Jaime Martin.
Karl Jenkins is very highly rated among contemporary classical composers, having reached global stardom with works like Adiemus, Requiem and The Armed Man.
On Friday night, the acclaimed virtuoso star of Classical Twist, Vladimir Jablokov returns to UCH with family favourite, A Viennese Christmas.
This was a sell-out when performed last year on a nationwide tour. This show also features Sean Costello, who starred in the Mario Lanza tribute, The Loveliest night of the Year.
Also involved will be Claudia Boyle and all eight of the Jablokov family who form the backbone of the Slovak Festival Orchestra.
Some of the festive favourites on the night will include Blue Danube, Radetzky March, Vienna-City of Dreams and O Holy Night.
