Sixmilebridge to meet Kilmaley in Féile semi-final

Sixmilebridge 7-8
Feakle-Killanena 1-3

SIXMILEBRIDGE had a much easier than expected win over Feakle/Killanena in Bodyke on Saturday morning in their Féile na nGael quarter-final tie.

The ‘Bridge led by 5-4 to 0-1 at half-time with three goals in the first quarter of the game, two from top scorer Pa Mulready and one from Diarmuid Quinn.
Two more goals just before the half-time break, one for Mulready again and one more for Quinn, meant the winners had 18 points to spare at the break. The East Clare side’s only reply was a point from Fionn McGuiness.
Feakle-Killanena upped their game after the restart with midfielder Dara McNamara doing well. However, the ‘Bridge defence stood firm with Oisín Fitzpatrick and Cian McInerney particularly impressive. Further goals for substitute Joseph Hogan and Mulready ensured a comfortable passage to the semi-finals for the ‘Bridge.
Fiacra Donnellan did find his way through the ‘Bridge rearguard to score his side’s only goal near the end.
