Jessica O’Neill finally got Clooney-Quin on the scoreboard with a point after 10 minutes. Clooney-Quin got to grips with the game and two Deirdre Murphy frees had the gap down to one.

Clooney were piling on the pressure and Pauline McNamara was forced to save from Marie Begley. Jessica O’Neill then levelled matters and Deirdre Murphy again, from a placed ball, had Clooney-Quin in the lead.

Clooney made hard work of the fight back though and did not draw level until midway through the half with the scores coming from Deirdre Murphy (2) and Aisling Corbett.
