Newmarket’s experience proved decisive as they qualified for a third successive league final when defeating newcomers, Inagh-Kilnamona at Clarecastle on Sunday morning.
Played in driving rain, Newmarket quickly overcame the initial challenge from Inagh-Kilnamona, and picked off their scores. Erica Minogue struck for the only goal of the game in the 30th minute giving the Blues a 1-8 to 0-0 lead at half-time.
Inagh-Kilnamona were a steadier side in the second half, with their defence coming to better grips against Newmarket but they were guilty of squandering scoring opportunities, leaving Newmarket to run out comfortable winners.

Kilmaley are back into the senior league final having defeated Clooney-Quin on Sunday morning at Newmarket. Kilmaley led for the entire game but Clooney-Quin battled hard throughout, making Kilmaley earn every score.
Kilmaley led at break, 1- 8 to 0-5 after playing with aid of a strong breeze. In the second half Clooney-Quin put the current title-holders under pressure. Kilmaley did well to hold out on a score of 2-9 to 0-7.
Kilmaley had good performances from Denise Lynch, Lisa Kennedy, Siobhán Maher and Aida Griffey. They will meet Newmarket on Fergus in the final on Saturday, May 5.
