Semi-final places and relegation issues still to be resolved

The final round of games in the Clare Champion Cup will take place over the coming weekend and with semi-final positions still up for grabs along with relegation issues to be resolved, there is a lot at stake.
In Division 1, there are two to qualify for the semi-final and there are four teams in the running, Sixmilebridge, Newmarket, Crusheen and Inagh-Kilnamona. The ’Bridge (holders) and Newmarket meet in the final round in what is a repeat of last year’s final and it would appear that the winners of this will go through. Meanwhile, any slip-up by Crusheen or Inagh-Kilnamona could prove costly in their quest for a semi-final place.
There is one semi-final spot available for Division 2A teams and this seems to rest between Clonlara and Cratloe, both of whom are expected to be promoted.
Kilmaley lead Division 2B and remain favourites to secure the semi-final spot on offer. They play Éire Óg in their final game and the Ennis men must win to have any chance of being promoted. The two promotion spots from this division rest between Kilmaley, Éire Óg and Ruan, who suffered their first defeat last week when they went down to Kilmaley.
In the intermediate league, there will be semi-finals this season. Inagh-Kilnamona currently lead the division from Crusheen and both are in the semi-finals. Newmarket are expected to fill one of the positions, with a number of teams in the running for the other spot.
