The operators of a new East Clare-based seaplane business will be holding an open meeting next week in Feakle, where they aim to tease out ways the seaplane can generate tourism business for the locality.

The open forum will be held in Pepper’s Pub from 9.30pm next Wednesday and members of Habour Flights will be present to discuss how their seaplane operation in Mountshannon can bring business to East Clare.
Emelyn Heaps, CEO of Habour Flights, described the event as “a general tourism meeting”.
“We would like to encourage tourism in the region and we can’t do that without the people of the area.
“We would like them to come with ideas so that we can further develop tourism for the region. We are all in this together and we hope people will throw their weight behind this. It is in all our interest, as the more people we can bring into the region the more everyone else benefits.
“We need anyone with an interest in tourism and how to develop ideas; we do need help,” Mr Heaps concluded.
