Seanad reform submission date extended

The Working Group on Seanad Reform, which held its first meeting on December 17, has decided to extend it deadline for receipt of submissions. The group will be taking into consideration the 11 official reports since 1937 and the very many submissions made during the recent Seanad referendum process.

Chairman of the group, Dr Maurice Manning, has again stressed that any new submissions should be within the Working Group’s terms of reference which stipulates that all changes must be within the existing constitutional framework.

The closing date for submissions has now been extended to Friday, January 30.
