Regan new secretary but still no PRO

Bernie Regan, (Wolfe Tones) has been elected  as secretary with the Clare Ladies’ Football County Board. The reconvened AGM was held on Monday in the West County Hotel, Ennis.

The AGM on January 11 had failed to find a successor to outgoing secretary Michael Fitzpatrick. Edel Conway (Doonbeg) was elected assistant secretary, while the adult and underage PRO positions were not filled. Board chairman Davy Browne encouraged delegates to “go back to their clubs” and have nominations for vacant positions ready for the February meeting.

The assistant treasurer’s position is also vacant. However, former board chairman Johnny Hayes suggested the appointment be made from a member of the finance committee. Doora-Barefield clubman Paul Conway, who is originally from Kilkee, was elected to the post of development officer.

The executive, following the two meetings, is as follows: life president, Fr John O’Keeffe; vice-presidents, PJ O’Halloran and Christy O’Connor; secretary: Bernie Regan; assistant secretary: Edel Conway; treasurer, James Lafferty; assistant treasurer, vacant; registrar, James Lafferty; adult PRO, vacant; underage PRO, vacant; development officer, Paul Conway; Munster Council delegates, Pat Keane, Johnny Hayes, Michael Fitzpatrick; Central council, Therese Doohan, Martina Moloney, Christina Hayes, Seán Lenihan.
