ON Friday October 7, Rape Crisis Mid-West is holding a fundraising quiz night at Thomond Park.

The ‘Ultimate Quiz Night’ is promised to be a fun- filled night for all involved.

A spokesperson said, “We are using this event as an opportunity to raise funds for us here in Phoenix House. This is our ninth year in a row to host this event.

“However, we are especially delighted to be back in Thomond Park in person after two years running the event online.

“Over the last eight years, the event has raised nearly €100,000 and we hope to make this event our best ever.”

The quiz is taking place on Friday, October 7, at 8pm. Doors opening at 7pm.

The spokesperson added, “We are inviting you to buy a table of four and then you and your teammates will rattle your brains to be in the chance of winning prize money of €500.

“It’s €40 for each team of four to enter and each of you will need to pull your weight to get through the eight categories of questions that we have lined up for you.

“This event is open to those who have crowned themselves quiz masters and also to those who are fortunate enough for this to be their first quizzing event.

“We are reaching out to families, organizations, clubs and societies to join us on the night and take part.

“Demand for our services in the Mid-West remains at an all time high. During the pandemic, we experienced an unprecedented number of calls to our centre. In 2021, we offered 4,035 hours of counselling and 1,535 helpline calls. Our services are open to men and women who have experienced any form of sexual violence, rape, childhood sexual abuse.”
