With the game in injury time and his side trailing by two points, he threw caution to the wind and moved up field as the West Clare outfit launched one last attack.
Quinlan was involved in the move and continue to move forward, providing options for his team mates. When the ball broke free on the 14m line, the full-back was there to pos drill it to the net.
There was time for no more and when the final whistle sounded, the men from the peninsula were in front and had secured their first win of the campaign.
Helped by a goal from David Collins, the Cratloe men led at the break, 1-6 to 0-6.
The main scorers in that opening half were Pádraig Chaplin for Cratloe and Eoin Troy for the eventual winners.
Troy scored his team’s first goal from the penalty spot but, despite this, Cratloe looked to be heading for victory as they held a two-point advantage with the game heading into injury time. Then Quinlan struck for the vital score, which saw his side move off the bottom of the table.
