Quin Tea Rooms in top 50

Quin Tea Rooms on Main Street in Quin has been shortlisted as part of an Irish Times poll, after it was nominated as one of the best tearooms in Ireland.

The newspaper called for people to nominate their best independent retailer and following a public vote, the Quin business was selected among the top 50 entries, and was one of only seven cafe/tea rooms.

Run by Sinéad Copeland, the cafe is coming to the end of its first year in business and although it is going very well Sinéad said the nomination has given them a huge boost.

The tearooms, located opposite Quin Abbey, has a vintage New England type feel and Sinéad said she hopes it was chosen by the public due to its service and atmosphere.

As part of the poll, the Irish Times is to send a representative to each of the 50 shortlisted premises, which also includes Juniper Boutique in Parnell Street, Ennis.

This will be conducted like a secret shopper and the newspaper will then announce their top 12 independent retailers based on this visit.

“We are very grateful to those who nominated us, it is really nice to be recognised and it is a great boost to us,” Sinéad concluded. The selected 12 will be announced on Saturday, August 25.
