Primary schools put on a show

Ennis CBS won the Boys Division 1 final.

sponsored Cumann na mBunscoil primary schools football finals (boys and girls) were staged this Tuesday and Wednesday at Cusack Park and Clarecastle and, once again, provided great entertainment.

On Tuesday in Cusack Park, there were four finals. In the all-Ennis Division 1 boys decider, CBS accounted for Ennis National but there was joy for the National when they won the Division 1 girls title with victory over Gaelscoil Mhichil Chiosog.
Meanwhile, Barefield completed an impressive double on Wednesday winning the boys Division 2 and girls Division 1 B titles.
Clare schools officials expressed satisfaction at the standard of play and paid tribute to Clarecastle GAA and Cusack Park authorities for providing their facilities for the finals.

Matthew Davenport scored 2-2 as the CBS captured the honours in a lively division 1 final.
Mark Collins and Sean Dolan had goals for the National but the CBS were stronger on the day and deserved their win.
