Primary school winners go on to Munster

THE Clare primary schools handball championships have been taking place throughout the past week and have provided some excellent fare.
The finals were played at the Clooney and Tulla clubs and members of the Tulla club acted as referees.
The winners will now go on to represent their county at the Munster Cumann na Bunscoil Day, the date of which has yet to be confirmed.

Results
Boys’ U-11 singles (10 schools participated)
Davie Healy (Clarecastle) defeated Jack Minogue (Tuamgraney) 11-7, 8-11.
Boys’ U-11 doubles (nine schools participated); Mark Rogers and Con Downes (Scariff) defeated Adam Deegan and David Barbotin, Quin. 11- 4, 11-9.
Boys’ U-13 singles (11 schools participated); Tiernan Agnew (Kilmurry) defeated Ronan Molloy (Tulla) 11-2, 11-2.
Boys’ U-13 doubles
(14 schools participated) Cian Minogue and Cathal Doyle (Tuamgraney) defeated John Kearney and Stephen Donlon (St Conaire’s) 11-3, 11-2.
Girls’ U-11 singles (five schools participated) Amber Nolan (Iniscealtra) defeated Orla O’Brien (Tulla) 11-8, 9-11.
Girls’ U-11 doubles Gillian Ryan and Leah Molloy (Tulla) defeated Róisín Keogh and Niamh Melody (Clooney) 11-6 11-2.
Girls’ U-13 singles (eight schools participated) Brídín Dinan (Tulla) defeated Ciara McCarthy (Newmarket-on-Fergus) 11-4, 11-5.
Girls’ U-13 doubles (five schools participated) Laura Philpott and Allanah Ryan (Kilkishen) defeated Kelly McInerney and Ava Quigley. 11-3, 11-5.
