KILLALOE and Ballina will be ‘putting on the style’ in earnest on Thursday, May 24, when local businesses stage a major fashion and beauty extravaganza in aid of the forthcoming Pink Ribbon Walk and Action Breast Cancer.
“Businesses in the two towns have come together to showcase what the area has to offer. But it’s also our way of giving something back to the community and to the breast cancer campaign,” said Karen Meagher of Spirit boutique.
The show will be hosted at the Lakeside Hotel by the Hilary Thompson Model Agency and tickets are available at the participating beauty, hair and fashion shops in the town.
Killaloe/Ballina has, in recent years, become the region’s hidden fashion secret, drawing customers from a wide area to its exclusive boutiques.
Among the participants in the show are Spirit, Lady Penelope, Amore Mio, Katwalk, Joanne’s Boutique and Fine Rags. Hair salons taking part are The Green Room, M&L Studio and Veronica’s. The beauty salons are The Powder Room, J’Adore, Forme, Candy and Moon and Total Care. Shoes are by ‘Shoe Be Do”
Six lucky members of the public – one per fashion house – will get a complete makeover including hair styling, fashion styling and full make-up.
Other shops in the town are also sponsoring attractive spot prizes for the night.Nicola Wood, chairperson of the Pink Ribbon Walk said they were delighted to be associated with the fashion extravaganza.

There will be special registration days in Limerick at Specsavers on Cruises Street and at the Crescent Shopping Centre on Saturday, May 12, 19 and 26.
