Prestigious international recognition for EHA

EHA is the first specialist occupational medical service provider in Ireland to be certified by the National Standards Authority of Ireland to the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
This standard is the world’s foremost management standard used by hundreds of thousands of leading organisations in over 170 countries around the globe.
Providing occupational health services on a nationwide basis since 1993, the company’s regional professional services are provided in Shannon and Limerick  by Mid-West Occupational  Health Services.
“Now that we have achieved this international standard of recognition, it is difficult to imagine how businesses can operate and continue to provide the highest level of professional services, in today’s economic climate, without a quality management system in place,” said Dr John Gallagher, managing director of EHA.
EHA provides a wide variety of services for managing business risk, health and safety, medical assessments, pre placement health screening, health surveillance, management referrals and absence management.
“Recent research has shown that sickness absence costs Irish business at least €1.4 billion annually.  This cost is unsustainable requiring a paradigm shift in culture and in the way business manage, analyse and embrace continual improvement.
“It is difficult to know if you are improving if you have not measured, analysed or quantified the causes and determinants of sickness absence, which are multi-factorial and require a radically different, risk-based process and clinical analysis, to provide sustainable solutions,” Dr Gallagher added.
In this regard, EHA is committed to helping companies to develop and adopt bespoke solutions to their sickness absence problems.
“Too often companies adopt partial or generic approaches to sickness absence with limited effect.  EHA has developed and tailored software technology to assist in the management of sickness absence in line with other critical business processes,” revealed Dr Martin Hogan, director of EHA.
Maurice Buckley, NSAI CEO, noted, “Certification  to the international management system standard, ISO 9001, from the NSAI, now places EHA in a unique position to combine best  business management practices with their occupational health expertise and deliver tangible  improvements in workplace attendance and occupation wellbeing”.
