ORGANISERS of the Kilrush Traditional Music Festival, which was held last weekend, say they were very happy with the attendance from competitors and the general public.

There was a significant overseas presence with individuals and groups from Spain, the US, New Zealand and France among those competing at the annual festival.

A number of local people, who live abroad, also attended. “There were major crowds at the three céilís. There was bigger crowds on the Sunday evening than last year. There was good entries for the concertina competitions,” committee secretary Anne Hayes said.
