O’Brien steps down as Clare ladies’ boss

David O’Brien has stepped down as Clare ladies senior football manager after two years at the helm. He spent the previous two years as part of the management team headed by Deirdre Murphy.
The Miltown man addressed this week’s monthly board meeting at the West County when he paid tribute to the players for their efforts during his time in charge.
Many tributes were paid to the outgoing manager for his work before a three-man committee comprising board secretary Michael Fitzpatrick, Alan Copley (Banner) and David Browne (Doonbeg) was appointed to find a successor. They are to report back to the executive with their findings.
O’Brien’s outing selection committee included Joe Garry (Cooraclare), Dan Sheedy (Cooraclare), Andy Tierney (Banner), Shane Hehir (Miltown) and Trevor Slattery.

Convention

The annual convention of the Clare ladies board has been set for Tuesday, December 13.
