Newmarket’s winning run continues

Newmarket Celtic continued their winning ways in the premier league when they recorded a comfortable win over neighbouring rivals Rineanna Rovers on Sunday.
The winners led 2-0 at half-time thanks to Mike O’Malley and an own goal.
Early in the second half, Newmarket stretched their advantage when Davy Wall scored. Rineanna’s reply came from Pat Fahy shortly before the final whistle.

Bridge United A proved too strong for Tulla A in Sixmilebridge on Sunday.
After a scoreless first half, the winners took the lead when substitute Trevor Maxwell scored 15 minutes into the second half. Their second goal came from another substitute, Derek Fahy in the final minute seconds after a Dara Corry effort for Tulla had rebounded off the crossbar.

Hermitage A earned the bragging rights when they accounted for their Ennis neighbours Lifford at Cassidy Park on Sunday.
The winners had the better of the first half exchanges but the game remained scoreless. Fifteen minutes into the second period the breakthrough came when Eddie Killeen scored what proved to be the winner.
From here to the finish Lifford piled on the pressure but the ‘Tage defence held firm.

Bunratty A took the lead in this tie when Diarmuid Nash headed home following a corner. Celtic hit back and were ahead 2-1 at half time thanks to goals from Shane Byrnes and Conor Hynes. On the resumption, Byrnes struck again to increase the visitor’s lead but Shane O’Connor scored two goals in the last 20 minutes to get it back to 3-3.
