IN a high-scoring tie, Newmarket Celtic defeated Lifford by a single goal in this premier league tie at McDonough Park on Sunday.
Newmarket raced into an early 2-0 lead with goals from Eoin O’Brien and Eoin Hayes. Lifford were reduced to 10 men when Niall White was sent off but they pulled one back when Ryan Boyle scored from the penalty spot before Fabrice Baptista hit the equaliser from a free-kick.

Entering the final quarter, Lifford were reduced to nine men when Roberto Pinto picked up a second yellow card. With ten minutes to go they levelled through  Gary McNaboe.
Newmarket came back when Eoin O’Brien struck for what proved to be the winning  goal.

Goals from Ricky Mowatt, Trevor Howard and Paul McEvoy helped Bridge Celtic to victory at O’Briensbridge. The winners led from the start and it was 2-0 at half-time. Bridge United scored early in the second half through Trevor Maxwell.

Burren and Bunratty A shared the spoils in this high-scoring tie at Lisdoonvarna on Sunday. The game marked Burren’s first game at the Lisdoonvarna venue.
The North Claremen went behind inside the first minute when Aly McMillan scored for the visitors but the home side were level in the third minute when Pat Nagle scored from a free-kick and this was the position at half time.
Fifteen minutes into the second half Burren went in front when Ghat Marine scored but back came the visitors to equalise through Daithi O’Connell.
Pat Nagle scored his second to put the Burren side back in front but, again, Bunratty levelled, this time through Martin Russell.
Bunratty went in front with 10 minutes remaining through Daithi O’Connell but Burren had the final say when Kevin Danagher struck with five minutes remaining.
Burren had the better of the chances in the closing stages and were unlucky not to take all points on offer.
Both sides finished with 10 men after Ally McMillan and Pat Nagle were sent off in separate incidents for second bookings.

Rineanna Rovers came out on top in this game on Sunday. Paul Butler put them in front half an hour into the game and they doubled their advantage 20 minutes into the second half. Rock goalie Eric Murphy failed to hold a free from Butler and Kieran Keane applied the finish. Rock Rovers pulled one back through Barry Woods.

Leaders Avenue dropped more points when they were held to a draw by Shannon Olympic A on Sunday.
Both goals came from the penalty spot, with Avenue taking the lead through David Russell after Barry Nugent was fouled.
Fifteen minutes from the end Olympic were awarded a penalty after Liam Lagan was fouled and Karl Scott scored.
