NEWMARKET Celtic A moved a step closer to the Premier League title when they recorded their eighth win from as many starts in this year’s campaign.

Newmarket took the lead after 20 minutes when Ronan McCormack scored, after the home side’s defence failed to deal with a cross.
Ennis Town Rock equalised before half-time through an Adrian Walsh header.
Midway through the second half, Stephen Kelly scored the winner, a powerful shot from outside the box.

BURREN proved too strong for Lifford A at Lisdoonvarna on Sunday, to emerge as winners.
Lifford took the lead after half an hour through Scott Hennessy and this drew a strong response from the home side, who dominated the remainder of the half and scored three times before the half-time whistle.
The first came from Alex Garcia after an Evan Talty corner. Talty also provided the pass from which Pat Connole scored his side’s second and the third came from a Stephen Moloney penalty.
Fifteen minutes into the second half, Dylan Blake scored Lifford’s second and shortly before the finish, he picked up a second yellow card.

A SHARE of the spoils resulted when Hermitage and Mountshannon Celtic met at the Fairgreen on Sunday.
Mountshannon Celtic took the lead when Kevin Dooley scored but Hermitage equalised through Ger Dullaghan, leaving the sides level at 1-1 at half time.
Mountshannon went ahead again when John Moloney scored but the ’Tage levelled five minutes from time through Seanie McGee.
