New chairman for Inagh-Kilnamona

INAGH-Kilnamona Hurling Club held their annual general meeting in Kilnamona Community Centre on Sunday last, which was attended by a large crowd.

 

Chairman Brian Fitzgerald acknowledged the underage structure in the club on their continued success in winning both the U-15 and minor championships in 2012. He also paid tribute to the camogie club on having another successful year, especially in winning the U-14 Féile competition and commented on how these successes bring great enjoyment to the parish.
He went on to pay tribute to Niall Arthur, Haulie Vaughan and Brian Foudy on helping Clare to win the Munster and All-Ireland U-21 titles and also the club in winning the intermediate league in 2012.
He urged more people in the parish to get involved in the club and said it can only grow and prosper if more people get involved. He went through all the grades for 2012 and acknowledged the players and mentors for their efforts throughout the year.
He asked all players to give as much of a commitment as possible for the coming year, which in turn will bring further success to the club. He paid tribute to all who supported the club financially and stressed that finances are an issue for every member. He urged all members to get involved in raising funds for the development of the club.
He informed the meeting that he intended to step down as chairman. Fitzgerald acknowledged the support his fellow officers have given over the past five years and wished the club every success in the future. The club went on to elect Joe Barry as the incoming chairman.
The following officers were elected: president, Nora Rynne; chairperson, Joe Barry; vice-chairman, Brian Fitzgerald; secretary, Lorraine Gannon; assistant secretary, Paul McInerney; treasurers, Tommy Keating and Paul Gannon; PRO, David Foudy; children’s officer, Lorraine Gannon; coaching officer, Flan Barry and registrar, Tommy Cotter.

Kildysart
THE members of the outgoing executive at Kildysart GAA were returned for another term when the club’s annual general meeting took place on Friday last in the community centre.
Chairman Martin Frawley outlined the progress made during the season, which included winning the Division 3 League. He acknowledged the national school team on winning the Division 2 Cumann na mBunscoil title and paid tribute to the various underage teams on their progress. He also acknowledged the Coolmeen-Kildysart U-13 amalgamation on their success.
In his report to the meeting, secretary Cyril Kelly recalled the hosting of a successful club day last summer, while he also acknowledged the efforts of the field development officers, Tom Kelly and Noel McMahon, to seek a long-term lease for the GAA from the current trustees.
Treasurer Trish Donnellan gave details of the financial transactions and urged members to renew their membership for 2013.

Changing times at Clonlara
There are a number of changes to the executive of Clonlara GAA club for 2013. At the annual general meeting at the weekend chairman Bob Heuston and secretary Tommy Galvin stepped down.
Flan Mullane is the new chairman while Bríd Gully moved up from the post of treasurer to take on the secretary’s duties. The new treasurer is Elaine de Courcey.
Special tributes were paid to the Truagh-Clonlara Camogie Club on their successes during 2012.

Ruan GAA Club revels in successes of 2012

With the Browne Memorial cup on display, there was a buoyant mood at the Ruan GAA club’s AGM on Sunday.
In her report to the members, secretary Emer O’Halloran paid tribute to the intermediate team and selectors and thanked all for their imput during the year under review.
There were many tributes for Killian Ryan for the part he played in Clare’s All-Ireland U-21 success.
The club will hold a victory social at which the intermediate medals will be presented on January 12.
