More success for Burren

It was most disappointing for the organisers as only three clubs attended and this has caused some serious questions to be asked.
Officials of the host club, the Burren were most disappointed as they had everything organised and in place for a large turnout of teams.
In the U-18 category only one team attended, the Harps, and they got a walk over and took the gold medals plus the Pat Lee Perpetual Cup for being the best team with the highest points over the five rounds of championships.
At U-23 level three teams competed, the Burren, Farrenreigh and Harps. Farrenreigh won this and the Harps took the silver after a close battle. Farrenreigh, a new club this year from Thurles, took the gold medals plus the Pat Lee Perpetual Cup for being the team with the highest points over the five championships. They are trained and coached by Martin Duggan of Fermoy.
The 610kg was next and, again, three clubs competed. The Burren put up a great performance and lost no points on their way to retaining the title and winning the Burren Perpetual Cup.
In the 720kg the same three clubs competed and once again the Burren proved masters winning the title without losing an end to bring home the Dean Perpetual Cup.
The Burren has now won three Munster championship titles this season in the 600kg, 610kg and 720kg divisions. They now go on to represent Munster in the national championships 560kg on Sunday, August 19, in Tullow, Carlow.
The 720kg category in Divisions 1, 2 and 3, in the national championships are being held this in Saltmills, Wexford, as well as the final round of the Youths League and U-23 League.
