More Irish titles for Moya Ryan

Current international and number one seed Moya Ryan from the Ennis Badminton Club won the Irish U-15 singles and mixed badminton championships last weekend in Lisburn.

In the singles, she defeated Kate Frost 21-7, 21-13. In the mixed, she partnered Matthew Lightbody from Lisburn to win the final 21-12, 21-13. She was defeated in the girls’ doubles final. Other Ennis players who competed were Karen MacNamara and Lana Browne.

Ciara Dwyer has been selected on the Irish U-17 badminton team that will represent Ireland at the Catalunya U-17 Open on February 16 and 17. She joins her clubmate, Megan Bredin, on the trip to Barcelona and becomes the 14th junior badminton international from the Ennis club.
