Ennis man Keith Meere has won the Southern Centre Motorcycle Short Circuit Championship for the second time in three years.
In addition he finished in third place in the national championship that is open to competitors from all parts of Ireland and England. This is his highest placing to date in the event.
In the southern region competition, he had eight wins on his way to a comfortable victory in the championship. On his way to the title, he set a lap record at Mondello.
Speaking to The Clare Champion this week, Keith paid tribute to all who have helped him win during the season.
Keith, from Marian Avenue, has been involved in short circuit racing since 2005 and says he developed his interest in the sport thanks to his father, Jimmy, a bike mechanic.
His father, together with his brother Cathal, travel with Keith to most of his races and play a big part in preparations for these events.
Looking ahead, Keith says that he will be moving up to the SS600 class for next season.
