McEvoy returns to Ennis for nostalgic evening of song

Car Tourismo Banner

JOHNNY McEvoy has always been highly acclaimed for his concert shows and his return to Glór on Thursday, March 29 is eagerly awaited by his Clare-based fans.
As a hobby, he began singing with Mike Crotty and played Irish ballads and American folk.
Years ago, he was on the brink of emigrating to Kansas but was convinced by his manager Tom Costello to persist in Ireland and after recording Mursheen Durkin, he went on to have great success.
It was an overnight sensation and he took the country by storm, while he had huge chart success with The Boston Burglar. He would go on to tour America and play in Carnegie Hall.
A nostalgic evening of song and story will include all of his hits. The show will also feature songs from his new album including a recent recording of Mursheen Durkin with Sharon Shannon.
