Lissycasey’s top SCÓR

Lissycasey competed in seven of the eight competitions and the other clubs represented were Cooraclare (three items), Cratloe and Newmarket (two items each), Coolmeen and Sixmilebridge (one item each).
At the end of the afternoon’s competitions, Lissycasey had claimed six of the eight titles on offer with the other two going to Cratloe (figure dancing) and Newmarket (quiz). Lissycasey retained the club-of-the-year award.
Ava O’Malley won the solo singing for Lissycasey and then helped them to the instrumental music title with Clodagh Doohan, Áine and Orla McSweeney, Miriam and Caoimhe Daly. The members of the winning ballad group were Áine and Orla McSweeney, Miriam and Caoimhe Daly and Ava O’Malley, while Kieran Moroney won the recitation.
In the novelty act, the members of the winning Lissycasey team were Brian, Áine and Orla McSweeney, Miriam and Caoimhe Daly, Ava O’Malley, Gillian Cummins and Kieran Moroney.
Lissycasey also retained the set dancing title and the team members were Elizabeth Kelly, Orla McSweeney, Lauren Griffin, Sarah Hehir, Oisín Hanrahan, Killian Normoyle, Kieran Moroney and Seamus Collins.
All Clare winners go forward to Munster semi-final, which will take place in Askeaton on Sunday, January 8 beginning at 2.30pm. They will compete against the winners from Kerry and Limerick.
The Munster final takes place on Sunday, January 29 in Cappoquin in Waterford.
