SEVEN clubs participated in the Clare Scór na nÓg finals at Cois na hAbhna last Sunday. The standard of competition was quite high and the winners will now go forward to the provincial semi-final, which is set for Sunday, January 6 at Cappamore in Limerick starting at 2.30pm.
Newmarket-on-Fergus, Clooney-Quin, Inagh-Kilnamona, Clondegad, Cratloe, Tulla and Lissycasey took part last weekend. Three competitions were uncontested; figure dancing, ballad group and set dancing, while two competitions, novelty act and solo singing, had only two teams competing.
The finals were attended by child protection officer Michael McDonagh and culture officer Tom Burke, who presented the prizes. Fear an Tí for the finals was Jim Enright, Cratloe.
Lissycasey won four titles and this resulted in the club retaining the club of the year award.
