(After extra time)

Lissycasey dethroned the O’Gorman Cup title-holders Kilmurry-Ibrickane in a lively semi-final tie which required extra time at Cooraclare on Tuesday evening.

The win sets up a final date against Doonbeg, a repeat of the final in the first year of the competition in 2006.
In Tuesday’s semi-final, there was little between the sides at any stage and the lead changed hands on a number of occasions in the game.
Kilmurry had early points from Michael Hogan and Johnnie Daly before Lissycasey replied through Francis Hayes ands Enda Finnucane. At half time Lissycasey led by the odd point in seven.
It was score for score throughout the second half as the sides were level at the end of normal time approached. In the fourth minute of injury time Kilmurry looked to have secured a place in the final when Noel Downes pointed but Lissycasey hit back and centre back Cathal Hill ensured that extra time would be needed when he levelled.
The introduction of county minor Niall Hickey appeared to turn the tie in Kilmurry’s favour as he pointed twice in the first period of extra time to give them the lead but a superb effort from Lissycasey substitute Oisin Talty left just the minimum between the sides at the end of the first period.
Points from Martin Daly and Gerry Moran saw Lissycasey go back infront before Johnnie Daly kicked a superb equaliser for the holders to leave the score at 0-12 each with five minutes still to play. Lissycasey dominated this period when the experienced Colin Lynch and Martin Daly landed points to secure victory.
