Liscannor lead the way in Garry Cup

Liscannor 1-12   Lissycasey 0-6

A PHYSICALLY stronger Liscannor maintained their winning run in the Garry Cup when they accounted for Lissycasey in this league tie played at Liscannor on Saturday. As a result of this win, the North Clare men top the league table after three rounds.
The winners laid the foundations for victory in the opening half when they built up a six-point lead when playing with the aid of the breeze to lead 0-8 to 0-2 at the break.
Lissycasey tried to get back into contention in the second period but they were unable to break the midfield dominance of Brian Considine.
The winners’ goal came from Robert Lucas in the final minute.

One-point victory for O’Curry’s

POWERFUL performances from inter-county panellists Sean Haugh and Michael Foran helped O’Curry’s to a one-point win over Cratloe in this Division 2 league tie played at Doonaha on Friday.
The home side led by three points, 0-6 to 0-3, at half-time in a well-contested tie.
A second-half goal from Gearóid Ryan gave the visitors hope but O’Curry’s held on for victory by the minimum margin on a day when Eoin Troy (3) Sean Haugh, Michael Carmody (2 each), Michael Foran and Ollie Quinlan were their point scorers.

Clondegad in top form

Clondegad 0-19   St Breckan’s 0-12

CLONDEGAD raced into a four-point lead in this league tie played at Ballynacally on Saturday and by half-time they had a five-point advantage with the score at 0-9 to 0-4.
By the end of the third quarter, they were ahead by eight points, 0-16 to 0-8 and well on their way to the points.
Eight players shared in the winners’ tally with all six forwards as well as both midfielders getting on the scoresheet. Gary Brennan and Paudge McMahon each contributed four points with Kenneth Kelly, Pat Coffey, Francis O’Reilly, Paddy Breen and Shane Brennan scoring two each while Eoin Griffin completed their tally.
Conor Cormican was the visitors’ top scorer with 0-5 followed by John Stack on 0-4, while Dale Masterson, Michael Keating and Denis O’Driscoll completed their tally.

Easy for Cooraclare

Cooraclare 2-13   St Senan’s 1-4

COORACLARE recorded their first win of this Garry Cup campaign when they easily accounted for St Senan’s at Cooraclare on Friday.
The winners were seven points clear by half-time and went onto dictate matters in the second half on a day when their goalscorers were John Looney and Sean Maguire.
