Late win for St Joseph’s

St Joseph’s 1-11   Corofin 1-7
St Joseph’s had to battle hard for victory in their Division 2A tie played at Corofin on Monday.
While the Doora-Barefield outfit deserved to win, they missed a lot of chances and had to wait until the final minute to seal victory when Ivor White’s long-range free went all the way to the net. Stephen Heagney scored the Corofin goal on a day when both teams were short a number of regulars.

Feakle 3-9   Ballyea 2-11
Feakle came out on top by the minimum margin when they entertained Ballyea at Feakle on Monday.
Both sides were short a number of regulars and Ballyea lined out with former county forward Tony Griffin at centre-back.
The winners had goals from Raymond Bane (2) and Cathal Collins, while the visitors’ goals came from Francie Neylon, who contributed 1-6, and Niall Keane.

Smith O’Brien’s 1-13   O’Callaghan’s Mills 2-6

Smith O’Brien’s maintained their position near the top of the Division 2A table with the merited win over O’Callaghan’s Mills at Kilkishen on Monday.
The home side held a one-point advantage at half time when the score was 1-7 to 1-6, the Killaloe goal coming from John Cusack, while Niall Donovan had the home side’s goal.
The winners held the visitors to just one score in the second half, a goal from Aidan O’Gorman, as their defence dominated.
