Newmarket 1-14 Tulla 1-13

Newmarket got off to a dream start with a James Liddy goal but Tulla fought back and a goal from Aidan Lynch gave the home side the lead and also led to Newmarket replacing corner-back Eoin McInerney, who was struggling to cope with Lynch’s pace.
It was 1-7 each at the halfway stage and the teams continued to exchange points in the second period with scores coming from Andrew Quinn and David McInerney for the home side and from Colin Ryan and David Barrett for the Blues, who collected their first points of the campaign.
It was 1-10 each at the three-quarter stage and each side looked like they would snatch victory in the closing stages.
Jamie Fahy, Cian McInerney, Aidan Lynch in the first half and David McInerney got through good work for Tulla, while Newmarket had impressive displays from the Barrett brothers and Colin Ryan, who contributed 0-8 of their tally.

Clooney-Quin 1-15 Broadford 1-15

A DRAW was a fair result in the tie played at Clooney on Saturday evening.
Broadford raced into a 0-4 to 0-1 lead with points from Niall Moloney, Aonghus O’Brien, James Gunning and Craig Chaplin, with Derek Ryan replying for the home side.
Two more Ryan efforts closed the gap to the minimum before Craig Chaplin had another for the visitors. Ryan, with his fourth, and John Earls pointed for Clooney-Quin to tie up the scores at 0-5 each.
Two Craig Chaplin frees edged Broadford two clear again but a brace from Paudie Ward tied up the scores at 0-7 each. Fergal Lynch and Derek Ryan then put the home side ahead but Aonghus O’Brien and Niall Moloney responded to level the game at 0-9 each as half-time approached.
In the final action of the half, a long-range free from Derek Ryan ended up in the net after Cathal Egan and Stephen Gunning tussled for the dropping ball, which took a deflection on the way to the net.
On the resumption, Broadford struck first and a brace from Craig Chaplin, along with one from Declan Teefy, levelled before a Derek Ryan brace put Clooney-Quin two clear again. Craig Chaplin cut the deficit to the minimum by the three-quarter stage before Niall Moloney struck for their goal early in the final quarter and this was followed by a Craig Chaplin pointed free, which saw his side a goal to the good with 10 minutes remaining.

Sixmilebridge 8-11 Wolfe Tones 0-17

Early in the second half, Wolfe Tones battled back to within three points of the winners, before Carmody struck for a goal.
