KNOCKERRA National School was honoured with a highly commended award at the Our World Irish Aid Awards, which took place at Dublin Castle on Tuesday.
Minister of State for Overseas Development, Peter Power TD presented the award to the teachers and pupils from Knockerra for their project entitled Stop Hunger In A World of Plenty.
The Our World Irish Aid Awards encourage primary school pupils across Ireland to explore the lives of children in developing countries and learn more about the Millennium Development Goals. Eleven schools were shortlisted for the top prize from over 600 schools that entered.
The overall winner of the Our World Irish Aid Award was Crehana National School, Carrick-on-Suir, Waterford.
