Kilrush capture senior C school’s title

Kilrush Community School    5-11   St Pat’s Shannon            4-5
Kilrush Community School defeated St Pat’s Shannon in the Ladies’ Senior C competition in Coolmeen recently.

Kilrush dominated the first half and settled with a brace of points from Áine Browne. Three goals from Maria Murphy gave Kilrush a commanding lead and this was further enhanced by an Aoife O’Gorman goal followed by two points from Siobhán Behan.
This left the half-time score Kilrush 5-6, St Pat’s 0-3. On resumption, St Pat’s lifted their game and scored two quick goals. With 10 minutes remaining, two further goals for St Pat’s reduced the deficit to seven points.
However, Kilrush rallied and finished the stronger team with points from Siobhán Behan and Shauna O’Brien to claim the title after the heartbreak of last year’s final defeat.
