Kilmaley were crowned minor B hurling champions at Clarecastle on Sunday when they turned in an impressive display to overcome the challenge of Feakle-Killanena.

Feakle-Killanena weren’t helped by injuries to some key players but there was no denying Kilmaley’s dominance on the day.
Centre-back Conor Cleary, midfielder Eoin Enright and full-forward Paul Kennedy were prominent throughout for the winners in a tie in which Kennedy hit 2-4 and generally caused huge problems for the East Clare amalgamation.
Both teams had to deal with a strong crossfield wind, while the pitch itself was in excellent condition.
The game came to life in the 25th minute when Feakle-Killanena got their first goal thanks to a great effort by Pádraig Brady but two minutes later the Kilmaley danger man Paul Kennedy had the ball in the Feakle-Killanena net after great work by Tomás Lynch.
This helped the winners to lead by two points at half-time when the score was 1-7 to 1-5.
Kilmaley took over in the second half and goals from Michael O’Malley and Kennedy again sent them on their way to the title on a day when Oisín Donnellan, Eoin Touhy and Shane McGrath were best for the losers.
After the game, Bord na nÓg chairman Martin Reynolds presented the trophy to the winning captain, Eoin Enright.
